Northwest Detective Division is asking for the public’s assistance to identify and locate the suspect who robbed East Mount Airy.
On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 7:47 pm, an employee, a 22 year-old female, of CVS Pharmacy located at 6344 Stenton Avene was working the register when an unknown male entered the store acting as if to make a purchase. The suspect then approached the counter armed with a black colored BB gun underneath a blanket and handed the complainant a note that read “all the money in the cash register.” After the employee opened the register placing the money inside a white plastic bag and setting it on the counter and when the suspect reached for the bag when the employee quickly grabbed the BB gun from the counter and backed away. The male then forced his way behind the counter and attacked the complainant, punching her several times in the head while trying to retrieve the BB gun from her. A coworker who came to the complainant’s aid pulled the suspect from her. The suspect then fled with $122 leaving the BB gun behind and was last seen west on Duval Street. The employee suffered minor scratches to her arms and pain to her head.
Suspect Description: Black male, 35-45 years-of-age, 5’5″-5’6″, beard, stocky build, wearing a black hooded jacket, dark colored pants, black colored boots, and sunglasses.
